Career Exploration Journey: BELLS X e2i

BELLS has been honoured to co-organize the Career Exploration Journey, 2023 along with the esteemed Employment & Employability Institute, e2i on 10th Feb. Singaporeans from all walks of life have taken part in this half-day journey which started at BELLS’s flagship baking studio @Suntec city.

After an interactive tour especially conducted by the directorial bodies of BELLS, participants were transported to the BELLS HQ center.

They were given a detailed overview on BELLS mission, achievement and work culture. The participants also have been given the opportunity to interview with our hiring managers to explore various career opportunities at BELLS

The highlight of the event has been the Wellness Corner represented by Wan Ling Yeo, Director of NTUC U Women & Family to BELLS in recognition of its dedication to ensure a better work environment through flexible work arrangements, work-life harmony practices, and stringent policies against workplace harassment.

NTUC U Women and Family Attends Private Baking Workshop at BELLS Baking Studio

BELLS Baking Studio has been delighted to host a private Baking Workshop for the members of NTUC U Women and Family on 25th November at the Suntec Baking Studio.

NTUC U Women and Family supports the career aspirations of working women by:

  • Providing CHOICES in career options that enable them to manage their caregiving needs;
  • Ensuring they have PROTECTION at the workplaces against gender discrimination and harassment, and
  • Maximising their POTENTIAL through the professionalism of female-dominated occupations and leadership development.

Around 60 women members, including leaders entrepreneurs from different walks of life have attended this corporate baking workshop. It has been fun-filled team building workshop and under the guidance of our Master Chefs, they hands-on cookies for the residences of the 4 shelter homes under to New Hope Community Services. It has been a pleasure for BELLS to be a part of this noble cause.

BELLS Participates in Singapore’s largest trade and industry show : Chillax

We are extremely honoured to be associated Singapore’s largest trade and industry show- Chillax 2022 at Marina Bay Sands Expo from 8th Nov to 10th Nov, 2022. BELLS Academic Group has been chosen to participate as the exclusive training partner.

The event has been inaugurated by the Guest of Honour, Ms. Yeo Wan Ling, Director of U SME and event organizer, Mr. Thomas Tan, PBM along with VIPs, Exhibitors and visitors.

During the event, CEO, Adrian Ang, shared valuable insights about how the Career Conversion Course (CCP) and Robotics Process Automation (RPA) could be the gateway to save operational costs and increase staff efficiency in the F&B industry and beyond.

BELLS participates at the Future Forward with Workforce and Business Transformation Conference

BELLS has been invited to participate at the Future Forward with Workforce and Business Transformation Conference organized by NTUC Job Security Council (JSC) on 17th October.

Singapore National Employers Federation and Employment & Employability Institute, e2i come together to strengthen the Job Security Council. and to offer more holistic support to employers and enhance the ecosystem to provide better job-matching for employers and workers, Singapore National Employers Federation and Employment & Employability Institute, e2i come together to strengthen the Job Security Council.

This partnership has been aimed to:
👉 Bridge employers to a greater pool of talent from e2i’s database of job seekers
👉 Provide employers with resources and tools to support workforce transformation

BELLS takes part in all-inclusive community job fair for visually impaired

BELLS Academic Group has been a proud participant in the All Inclusive Community Job Fair on 15th October 2022.

SAVH, in is collaboration with The Social Equity in partnership with qood and the South West Community Development Council has organized the first all-inclusive community job fair for visually impaired people. This job fair has been organized on the occasion of International White Cane Day.

Ms Low Yen Ling, Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Mayor of South West District has graced the event as the Guest-of-Honour.

BELLS has been on-site for job seekers who are keen for a training consultation and to better understand the various upgrading options that are available to
them. BELLS has presented courses specifically tailored for the Visually Impaired to help them gain employment.

The objective has been to bring together employers who are inclusive and are supportive towards hiring people with varying degree of disabilities and
challenges as well as support the upskilling for visually impaired job seekers with specific courses to empower them to be self-reliant and to lead independent lives

BELLS Receives FSRCA Award by Singapore Red Cross

BELLS Academic Group is honoured to receive the prestigious ‘Friend of Singapore Red Cross Award’ at the annual Singapore Red Cross Awards Ceremony on 12th October.

The Singapore Red Cross (SRC) has organized this Award Ceremony to recognize and honour the contributions of volunteers and partners who have given selflessly of their time, expertise and resources to further SRC’s mission.

BELLS has been wholeheartedly supporting the Singapore Red Cross Society’s Centre for Occupational Learning and Employment (COLE) in 2022, showcasing their commitment to social welfare and development and has been playing a crucial role in facilitating the setup of career services at COLE, ensuring that individuals received the necessary support and guidance to pursue their professional aspirations.

BELLS has displayed their expertise by developing an employability training framework specifically tailored to the needs of COLE’s beneficiaries, enabling them to acquire essential skills and enhance their employability prospects.

Recognizing the significance of coaching, BELLS conducted coach-coaching skills training for COLE’s Career Coaches, empowering them to provide effective guidance and mentorship to those seeking employment. BELLS’ collaborative efforts with the Singapore Red Cross Society have exemplified their commitment to fostering sustainable and inclusive opportunities for employment and growth. Through their unwavering dedication, BELLS has been able to play a pivotal role in transforming lives and shaping futures, positively impacting the lives of numerous individuals within the Singapore Red Cross community.

The Friend of SRC Award recognizes an individual, group or organization that has contributed financial or other resources to further the cause of Singapore Red Cross.

The FSRCA Award serves as a testament to BELLS’ exceptional dedication, expertise, and impact, solidifying their position as a trusted partner in driving positive change and uplifting the lives of individuals in need. BELLS X World Food Fair, 2022 @Singapore Expo

BELLS Baking Studio has become a prominent exhibitor at the World Food Fair held from 15 – 18 September at Singapore, Expo. With a massive footfall from people all over the island-city, BELLS has received immense attention and response.

The main attraction of the booth has been the LIVE baking demonstration of BELLS’ Master Chefs. Foodies and aspiring bakers from different parts of the city have flocked near the demonstration stage to observe the masters at work.

Expanding around a 4m/10m area at the center of the food fair, the booth has also showcased the array of baking courses offered by BELLS Baking Studio.

BELLS Baking Symposium ’22 Brings Employers & Job Seekers Under One Roof

BELLS Baking Studio (BELLS) has organised Baking Symposium ‘22, a networking event for Singapore’s baking community with employment opportunities for job-seekers. This symposium has been inaugurated by Guest of Honour, Mr Gilbert Tan, Assistant Director-General, National Trades Union Congress at Lifelong Learning Center (Event Hall – 1-1) on 6th July 2022 (Wednesday).

Baking Symposium 2022 has been a continuation of the Baker 4.0 journey, launched by NTUC’s e2i in July 2019, to prepare and upskill Singapore Bakers as well as transform the baking and confectionary industry. . Through this event, a series of collaborations between prominent Baking Industry players and training provider BELLS Baking Studio have been planned as well to uplift skills and promote employability in the industry.

In the job fair segment, BELLS partner e2i, qood, South East CDC and SG Digital Office with 12 prominent Baking Employment Partners has provided on-site interviews with more than 1,000 job opportunities. The Symposium has featured industry forums on digital transformation and employability, baking demonstrations by BreadTalk and BELLS as well as exhibition booths by Participating Partners.

12 popular bakeries in Singapore have set up their recruitment booths at the Baking Symposium ‘22. A variety of full-time and part-time job positions including kitchen, retail and office roles have been made available at the interview area. On-ground job interviews have been conducted by individual employment partners.

Job-seekers have received employability advice from e2i, Skillsfuture and training guidance from South East CDC. In addition, Singapore’s newest free-to-use job portal, qood will be on-site to guide job-seekers on their job search and employment requirements.

To address the skills gaps in future-proofing the job industry through training & skills upgrading, Baking Symposium ‘22 has featured a training consultation booth by BELLS.  It has hosted a SkillsFuture Advice Workshop conducted by South East CDC as well.

A highlight of the Symposium has been two forum discussions by industry experts to provide a platform for baking industry players to share business insights and strategies to overcome the challenges in the Digital Transformation journey and the rewards as well as challenges they faced as a Baker.

Talking about BELLS’ unique position in organizing this event, Mr Adrian Ang, CEO of BELLS Academic Group has stated, “As a baking training school, BELLS Baking Studio experienced the same manpower crunch as our partners in the baking industry. While theirs is a noticeable portion of job-seekers in Singapore, however, prominent skills gap together with the stigma of working in hot kitchens have resulted in a huge imbalance in employment.” Mr Ang added, “We have always believed in creating a holistic Baking industry ecosystem, with BELLS working together with our Partners e2i and qood, we can bridge this skills gap between baking employers and job-seekers through the Baking Symposium. At the same time, the expertise of each baking partner further adds relevance to the training courses we provide.”
