SCTP – Full Stack Developer

Please note: As per SSG’s policy, the GST payable for all funding-eligible applicants is calculated based on prevailing GST rate after the baseline funding subsidy of 70%.

1. SkillsFuture Funding (Baseline) Subsidy – Eligible Singapore Citizens aged 21-39 years old and PRs can enjoy up to 70% course fee subsidies.
2. SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES) – Eligible Singapore Citizens aged 40 years old and above can enjoy up to 90% course fee subsidies.
3. Additional Funding Support (AFS) – Eligible Singapore Citizens that meet at least one of the following eligibility criteria can enjoy up to 95% course fee subsides.

• Long-term unemployed individuals (unemployed for six months or more); or
• Individuals in need of financial assistance – ComCare Short-to-Medium Term Assistance (SMTA) recipients or workfare Income Supplement (WIS) recipients; or
• Persons with Disabilities

Funding Eligibility Criteria

• Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents or LTVP+ holder
• Trainee must achieve at least 75% attendance.
• Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments and attain 100% competency.
• BELLS Institute of Higher Learning reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from Trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria.

Remarks

• Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fee payable after funding.
• Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their PSEA (Post Secondary Education Account) funds to offset course fee payable after funding.

In this module, learners will be introduced to app builder tools to create user experience design concepts, develop user flow charts and drive modifications or enhancements to the product or service, in the following topics. Learners will be able to:

• • Define the role of UI/UX and explain its importance in terms of bridging the gap between end users and applications.
  • Understand what user stories are, their purpose in gathering requirements for a project and demonstrate effective user story creations in conveying the need of different group of users.
  • Explain what a UI/UX framework is and define its significance in the development of the UI/UX of an application.
  • Apply a UI/UX framework, such as Design Thinking or the Five Layers of UI/UX, to refine the user experience and interaction of an application.
  • Recognise how colours, layouts, images and typography impact the user experience and incorporate those elements in the visual design of an application.

• Assess the blockchain technology requirements and adapt industries best practices to implement business unit action plan

Through learning the fundamentals of database management, learners will apply MySQL and Mongo concepts to efficiently manage the collection and storage of various data types. Learners will be able to:

• Define what ACID is and explain why each component of ACID is important to backend development.
• Define what entities, relationships and attributes are and identify them from different use cases.
• Define the various symbols in an Entity/Relationship Diagram and apply them to represent different scenarios.
• Define what a document-based database is and describe its hierarchy in terms of collections, documents and key/value pairs.
• Demonstrate the ability to design documents from a given use case.
• List the steps to setup a document-based database and apply them to create a working database.
• List the commands required to perform CRUD operations on a document-based database and apply them to solve practical problems.

Learners will make use of various packages to build NodeJS and Express applications, adding on to their existing knowledge of Mongo and MySQL to perform relevant tasks NodeJS. Learners will be able to:

• Learn Relational Databases and MySQL
• Learn Framework Development with Express and MySQL
• Explain what NodeJS is and how it differs from browser-based JavaScript.
• Create a new NodeJS application using NPM.
• Define what server-side programming is and explain why it is important for security.
• Understand the role that Express plays in server-side programming.
• Describe what routes, requests and responses are and demonstrate the abilities to process them.
• Create an Express application which includes routes, requests and responses.
• Define what a view engine is and apply it to create reusable templates.
  Demonstrate form processing using Express.
• Explain the CRUD operations and apply Express, routes, requests and responses to implement those processes.
• Create a backend application using Express that uses forms, requests, routes and responses and which can perform the CRUD operations.

This module enables leaners to gain the knowledge and application skills in participating in work teams and be able to apply them in the workplace. Learners will be able to:
